Class 10 boy gives father's Rs 46 lakh to friends on Friendship Day

A class 10 boy in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur distributed Rs 46 Lakh of his father’s money among his friends in school, on the occasion of friendship’s day. Amongst the ones he gave out the lumpsum amount were a daily wager’s son, who the boy gave a sum of Rs 15 Lakh, and another 3 Lakh was provided to his friend who had apparently finished his homework, media reports said.


Bhatkal: Fishing boats sink in deep sea

The fishing boats left from Malpe shore for fishing sunk in the deep sea at Bhatkal- Gangolli on Sunday due to turmoil in the deep sea.

While returning, two boats capsized in the deep sea and it is said that 16 fishermen were rescued from the sinking boats.



5 injured in J&K explosion

Five youths were injured on Sunday in an explosion at a meadow in Jammu and Kashmir's Badgam district, police said. The incident occurred in the Tosa Maidan meadow.

Stolen surfboard returned to owner after 40 years

A surfboard was returned to its Australian surfer after it was stolen from him 40 years ago, local media reported on Sunday.

Peter Gilson said his mother saved some A$1,800 Australian dollars ($1,315) and bought him the surfboard in Newcastle, New South Wales state in the late 1970s but it was soon stolen from the garage, reports Xinhua news agency.

NASA's Parker Solar Probe lifts off successfully

NASA on Sunday successfully launched the Parker Solar Probe, the US space agency's historic small car-size probe to "touch the Sun," from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.

"3-2-1... and we have liftoff of Parker #SolarProbe atop @ULAlaunch's #DeltaIV Heavy rocket," the US-based space agency tweeted. The launch was initially planned for Saturday morning.

2 Bihar shelter home women dead

Police in Bihar said on Sunday that two women from a shelter home died at a hospital here. A 40-year-old woman and an 18-year-old girl from the Asra shelter home here died on Friday night in the Patna Medical College and Hospital.

Neither the police nor the Social Welfare Department were informed of the incident. A police team along with department officials visited the shelter home located in the city's Rajiv Hagar area and have interrogated the staff.
