Six workers, believed to be Indians, killed at Oman construction site

At least six construction workers, believed to be Indian nationals, were killed in Oman when they were buried at an excavation site of a water pipeline project due to heavy rains.

Gulf Medical University Celebrates 21 Years of Excellence in Education, Healthcare and Research

Gulf Medical University (GMU), Ajman, the biggest private medical university in the Middle East region celebrated its 21st anniversary with a cake-cutting ceremony and a tree-planting event at the university campus, on 5th November 2019. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Thumbay Moideen – Founder, President Board of Trustees GMU, Prof. Hossam Hamdy – Chancellor of GMU, Prof. John R. Raymond – President & CEO of the Medical College of Wisconsin, USA & Member of the Board of Trustees, GMU, Prof. Manda Venkatramana - Vice Chancellor Academics, the Deans of the colleges of GMU as well as other staff and students.

 

Two Indians die in accidents in UAE

An Indian woman and a four-year-old Indian girl have died in two separate accidents in the UAE, according to media reports.

Doha School withdraws message that earlier announced its closure at the end of 2019-20 academic year

Doha Modern Indian School, Qatar (DMIS) on Thursday evening withdrew their earlier message wherein they had announced the closure of the school on Wednesday. The move had triggered panic and uncertainty to the parents and students of the school. The school had announced that it would close all the operations at the end of current academic year (2019-20) and had urged parents to ensure seats for their kids at other schools for academic year 2020-21.

Abu Dhabi: An 8,000-year-old pearl that archaeologists say is the world's oldest will be displayed in Abu Dhabi, according to authorities who said Sunday it is proof the objects have been traded since Neolithic times.
