Saudi Arabia to hold 'very limited' hajj due to coronavirus

Saudi Arabia said Monday that this year's hajj will not be cancelled, but that due to the coronavirus only "very limited numbers" of people will be allowed to perform the major Muslim pilgrimage.

Dammam: A chartered flight arranged by SAQCO Contracting Company in Saudi Arabia, took off from Dammam International Airport with stranded Kannadigas who were stuck in Saudi Arabia due to COVID-19 lockdown. The flight is expected to touchdown at the Mangaluru International Airport on Wednesday.

 A 28-year-old Indian engineer in Dubai, who supported his pregnant wife to file a petition in the Supreme Court of India for early repatriation from the UAE during the COVID-19 lockdown, has died in his sleep, a month after he sent her home from here, according to a media report on Monday.

Indian teacher dies of COVID-19 in Abu Dhabi

A 50-year-old Indian teacher has died of coronavirus in the UAE, according to a media report. Anil Kumar, a Hindi teacher at Sunrise School in Abu Dhabi, died on Sunday morning, the Gulf News reported. Kumar was detected with COVID-19 on May 7.
