Cong demands fact-finding team to probe Mangaluru teacher's dismissal over 'anti-Hindu' remarks

Mangaluru: Congress leaders on Tuesday asked the Karnataka Education department to set up a fact-finding team to probe the expulsion of a teacher from a private school here for her alleged anti-Hindu remarks made inside the classroom.

A teacher of a private school at Belthangady in Dakshina Kannada district has been arrested for allegedly abetting the suicide of a girl student by sending a derogatory message about her to a classmate, police said on Tuesday.

Mangaluru: Sister Prabha, a teacher at Jerosa School in Mangaluru, has been suspended by the school board following allegations of making derogatory remarks about Hindu gods during a classroom session.
