21 Dakshina Kannada teachers chosen for 'Best Teacher Award'; List here

Twenty-one teachers in Dakshina Kannada district have been chosen for the 'Best Teacher Award' for the 2023-24 academic year, with three teachers being selected from each of the seven taluks within the district.

 


Bhatkal man killed in tragic road accident near Karwar; another critical

A tragic accident occurred on National Highway 66 at Talur near Karwar on Saturday night, resulting in the loss of a 32-year-old man's life while seriously injuring his pillon rider friend. The unfortunate incident unfolded when the two friends were riding a motorcycle and had to swerve suddenly to avoid colliding with a wild animal that unexpectedly appeared on the road.

Mangaluru: Residents demand for action against private city buses in top-cop's call-in programme

During the one-hour phone-in program held by Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Kuldeep Kumar Jain on Saturday, 32 residents called the phone line and most of them voiced their concerns about the disturbance caused by private city buses, various other topics including parking of vehicles in busy spots of the city, driving at a speed exceeding the limits on internal roads were addressed.
