Mangaluru: Tremors were felt in different parts of Sullai taluk in Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka early Sunday.

Due to the relentless heavy rains which have been falling for the past couple of days, the hill at the Chittur village in Vandse Hobali had reportedly collapsed in an apparent landslide in the Kundapur Taluk putting several homes at risk.

In the background of continuous heavy rains over the last few days, the water levels in the Netravati River have reportedly risen to dangerous levels with the water overflowing 8 metres above the normal level. 

Two labourers who were rescued from under the debris of a house it collapsed due to landslide by the hillside at Panjikallu in Bantwal on Wednesday evening, passed away at the hospital taking the death count in the incident to three.
