The Puttur City police reportedly arrested three individuals on Monday, who had allegedly stolen gold ornaments worth lakhs of rupees from the Jos Alukkas jewellery store on September 1. The accused had reportedly visited the jewellery shop posing as customers and stolen ornaments from the shop. 

The body of the former Congress leader Oscar Fernandez was taken from Mangaluru to Udupi around 9.30 am on Tuesday.

Mangaluru: Gold worth 5.58 lakh was seized from a plane passenger at the Mangaluru International Airport (MIA), Customs have said. The seizure of the metal, weighing 116.4 gm, was made on Sunday, they said. The passenger arrived here from Dubai, a press release from the Customs said.
