Bengaluru: In the wake of growing concerns over the safety of women doctors, Karnataka Minister for Medical Education and Skill Development Dr Sharan Prakash Patil on Tuesday said the government will enhance security measures by adding more streetlights, CCTV cameras and trained security personnel at all medical colleges, super-specialty hospitals and hostels across the state.

Bengaluru: Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara on Tuesday said a decision is expected to be taken by authorities in a couple of days on shifting Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, who is currently in judicial custody at Parappana Agrahara Central jail here in the Renukaswamy murder case, to another prison.

The Karnataka High Court has ruled that the charge of abetment to suicide against a husband can only be properly evaluated in a full trial after evidence is presented. The decision was made by Justice M. Nagaprasanna while refusing to quash the abetment to suicide charge under s. 306 IPC against Mayukh Mukherjee.

Karnataka is set to implement the 'Anywhere Registration' system for property registration across all sub-registrar offices in the state from September 2.
