Cargo ship catches fire in Karavali; Ship halts off coast near Surathkal

A massive cargo ship transporting highly flammable oil and solid materials from Mundra port in Gujarat to Colombo, Sri Lanka, caught fire in the Arabian Sea between Goa and Karwar. Currently, the ship is anchored mid-sea near Surathkal, close to Mangaluru's NMPT.


Landslide, tree fall on Goa-Karnataka border hit traffic on South Western Railway

Bengaluru: NHAI clears nod for heavy vehicles to ply on Peenya flyover after 3 years

Bengaluru: After three years, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has lifted the restriction on heavy vehicles plying on the Peenya flyover connecting Goraguntepalya to the Parle-G factory. The restriction which was imposed due to the replacement of prestressed cables, will be lifted, and all vehicles will be permitted to use the flyover from July 29.
