Bharuch: At least 40 workers of a chemical factory were injured on Wednesday in a huge fire caused by a blast in the boiler at Dahej in Bharuch district of Gujarat, district collector said.

"Around 35-40 workers sustained burn injuries after the boiler of an agro-chemical company exploded in afternoon.

All the injured persons have been shifted to hospitals in Bharuch, and efforts are on to control the fire," said Bharuch collector MD Modia.

The fire has still engulfed the unit, the collector said.

He said residents of Lakhi and Luvara villages located near the factory are being evacuated as a precautionary measure because of the presence of plants of poisonous chemicals near the affected factory.

New Delhi (PTI): A Delhi court on Monday sent Rahul Meena, the 19-year-old domestic help accused of killing a senior IRS officer's daughter at her upscale southeast Delhi residence, to seven days of judicial custody.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Deepika Thakaran allowed the Delhi Police's plea seeking seven days of judicial interrogation of the accused.

He was produced after his four days of police custody came to an end today.

A 22-year-old IIT graduate and the daughter of a senior Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer was allegedly raped and killed at her Kailash Hills residence by Meena, their former house help, on the morning of April 22.

Hours earlier, the accused and his associates had allegedly sexually assaulted another woman in Rajasthan's Alwar.
