Union government denies additional funds for MGNREGS in FY25: Reports

The Union Government has announced that it will not release additional funds for the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) for the financial year 2025. According to a report by Financial Express, officials stated that the allocated outlay of ₹86,000 crore should be sufficient for the year, with an additional ₹7,500 crore in unspent funds from previous allocations expected to cover remaining expenses.
