RBI expects return of most Rs 2,000 currency notes in circulation by Sep 30: RBI Governor

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das on Monday said most of the withdrawn Rs 2,000 rupee notes are expected to be returned by the deadline of September 30.

The Thalassery archdiocese of the Catholic church has condemned the "misinterpretation" of its archbishop's statement on political martyrs and said the church has a history of respecting the martyrs.
Thalassery Archbishop Mar Joseph Pamplany had on Saturday courted controversy by stating that political martyrs are those who died after getting into "unnecessary fights".
