Mangaluru: Former Karnataka Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Assembly, Siddaramaiah will visit the coastal city of Mangaluru on Friday October 18.

The senior Congress leader is expected to take part in the Congress party workers’ meet here at St. Sebastian Hall in Bendorwell of Mangaluru.

The event will be chaired by Dakshina Kannada Congress President K Harishkumar. Siddaramaiah is expected to address the party workers at the meet.

Former Karnataka ministers B Ramanath Rai and UT Khader will also be present at the event along with other party leaders including MLC Ivan D’Souza, Vansanth Bangera, Mohiddin Bava, Abhaychandra Jain, Shakuntala Shetty, J R Lobo, Mithun Rai and others.

Kathmandu (PTI): Two Indian nationals were among three arrested on Tuesday in Nepal's Lumbini province in connection with drug trafficking, police said.

The arrests were made in the Rupandehi district bordering India. The arrested individuals were identified as Arun Kumar, 18 and Binaya Pandey, 20, hailing from Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh.

A Nepali national, Bishal Yadav, was also arrested, according to the police.

The police recovered 3,300 ampules of Phenergan, Diazepam and Brufen, the drugs known to cause drowsiness and dizziness from their possession.

They were coming from across the border using a motorcycle registered in India to transport the narcotic drugs, they said.

Further investigation into the matter has been launched.
