Bengaluru: SIT officials were able to collect the information about the shelter of the prime accused in the IMA multi-crore scam Mohammed Mansoor Khan.

On Sunday, Mansoor Khan has uploaded one of his videos in IMA Youtube Channel. Based on this video, the SIT officials collected information about his whereabouts.

Speaking to reporters, SIT Chief BR Ravikante Gowda said that they came to know about the whereabouts of Mansoor Khan. But it is not possible to reveal the information while the investigation process is on.

In his video, Mansoor has leveled allegations against many people. But we could not serve notices based on his allegations. If there were evidences for his allegations, then, the SIT could interrogate the persons named in the video; Ravikante Gowda said.

SIT chief also said that Mansoor Khan demanded police security as he and his family are really facing life threat. If he respects the law of the land and cooperates with the police for investigation, then the police would give them security, he added.

SIT officials who met the State Crime Branch ADGP Saleem Ahmed on Monday, explained about the progress of the investigation into the multi-crore IMA scam.

Srinagar (PTI): Property worth Rs 1 crore belonging to a notorious drug peddler was on Saturday attached in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar, police said.

A double-storey house on eight marlas of land situated at Wantpora Eidgah, belonging to Basit Bilal Dar, a notorious drug peddler, valued at approximately Rs 1 crore, a police spokesperson said.

He said Dar is involved in two cases registered under various sections of the NDPS Act.

During investigation, it was established that the accused had acquired the said property through illicit proceeds generated from drug trafficking activities, the spokesperson said.

Consequently, the property was attached under the provisions of the NDPS Act. The attachment proceedings were conducted in the presence of the two independent witnesses, strictly in accordance with the prescribed legal procedures, he said.

As per the attachment order, the owner has been restrained from selling, leasing, transferring, altering, or creating any third-party interest in the property till further orders, the spokesperson added.
