Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Monday said arrests have been made and an investigation is on in connection with the violence in Hubbali over a social media post.

The High Ground Station Police have reportedly registered an FIR against Congress leaders for trying to protest outside the Chief Minister’s residence demanding the resignation and arrest of Minister Eshwarappa for his involvement in the suicide of the contractor Santhosh Patil. 

The CID team investigating the allegations of irregularities in the recruitment of 545 Police Sub-Inspector positions in the state, arrested the husband of Kalaburagi’s woman BJP leader Divya Hagaragi on Monday.

Shirahatti Jagadguru Fakeera Dingaleshwara Swamiji has accused that the corruption in the state has reached such a level where even the grant allotted for the Matts requires a 30% commission to be given before their release, he said.

Bengaluru: Karnataka on Sunday recorded 54 fresh COVID-19 cases and zero fatality, taking the total infection to 39,46,369 and the deaths to 40,057 till date, the State Health Department said.
