Bengaluru: Karnataka on Wednesday recorded 55 fresh COVID-19 cases and zero fatality, taking the total infections to 39,46,176 till date, the State Health Department said.

Bengaluru: In the aftermath of the suicide of Santosh Patil, a contractor who alleged harassment by BJP Minister Eshwarappa and blamed him for his death in the suicide note, the state Contractor`s Association on Wednesday accused the BJP of indulging in rowdyism and threatened to halt all government-contracted work for one month starting May 25.

Amid mounting opposition pressure for his resignation over the death of a civil contractor, senior Karnataka Minister K S Eshwarappa on Wednesday ruled out stepping down from his post, as he wondered if a Whatsapp message can be treated as a "death note."

Eeshwarappa and two close aides identified as Basavaraj and Ramesh under section: 306 Rw 34 IPC at the Udupi police station on during the early hours on April 13, Wednesday.
