New Delhi: The Congress on Monday said its state units will bear the cost of rail travel of needy home-bound migrants stranded at various places across the country due to the coronavirus-induced lockdown.

 Life was limping back to normalcy in most parts of Karnataka with easing of COVID-19 induced restrictions on Monday as the State headed into the third phase of lockdown started since March 24.

Two trains will depart from here on Monday to take workers and people stranded in Karnataka due to the COVID-19 lockdown, while Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said free bus services for labourers stuck within the state to reach their native places will be extended for two days.

A 56-year old man from Kalaburagi became the 26th COVID-19 related fatality in Karnataka, as the state reported 28 new cases, taking the total number of infections to 642, the Health Department said on Monday.

Campaign Against Hate Speech, an organisation fighting hate speech, has condemned the state government's decision to issue show-cause notice to IAS Officer Mohammed Mohsin for a tweet from his personal account.

As we promised yesterday, the KPCC is giving a cheque of Rs 1 crore to KSRTC to facilitate free transportation to passengers. They are, however, not ready to accept the cheque. Anyhow we will send the cheque, KPCC president DK Shivakumar said.
