Depressed over dowry harassment, a woman with her two-year-old son committed suicide by setting herself and her son on fire at Mahadevapura in Mysuru.

In a quid-pro-quo, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday agreed to transfer 210 acres of defence land in Bengaluru to the city's civic body for 10 infrastructure projects, stuck due to space constraints, an official said.

A fire mishap took place at a paint factory located on the outskirts of the city in Jigani Industrial area.
