The Karnataka High Court on Wednesday issued a notice to Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath on charges of winning the Assembly election due to defect in the EVMs.

With a superstitious belief that they would get salvation if they drowned in Kapila River, an aged couple jumped into the river to commit suicide at Nanjangud on Tuesday. But in the incident, Nagaraj (70) died and his wife Kalavati (60) was shocked. She was admitted to Nanjangud government hospital for treatment.
