Bengaluru, May 23 : Unfazed by the fall of its 3-day government last week in Karnataka, a defiant BJP's state unit will protest across the state on Wednesday against the formation of the Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S)-Congress coalition government, said a party official on Tuesday.

Mangaluru MLA and former minister UT Khader said that till now, the suspected Nipah virus is not traced in Dakshina Kannada district and there is no need to be panic.

Polling for this constituency was deferred after Vijayakumar died during the campaign on May 4.

KPCC president Dr G Parameshwar said that big challenge before both JDS and Congress is to make the coalition government-led by HD Kumaraswamy a success.

H.D Kumaraswamy has said that senior congress leader Dr. G. Parameshwar will take oath as deputy chief minister of Karnataka on Wednesday, May 23.

Former minister MB Patil said that two Deputy Chief Minister posts should be created in JDS-Congress coalition government and one should be given to Lingayat community.

The Election Commission said that it would conduct the election to elect 11 members from the State Assembly to the Legislative Council on June 11 and the result would be announced on the same day.
