Five people accused of forcing a 14-year-old girl from near Bengaluru into wedlock recently have been arrested by Denkanikottai Women Police of Tamil Nadu following a complaint filed by the girl’s grandmother.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who also holds the finance portfolio, presented the Karnataka state budget for 2025-26 on Friday, announcing several initiatives aimed at the welfare and development of minority communities.  Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah taking to his official ‘X,’ account on Friday stated, “Today, I am ready to present the 16th budget of my political career. I am grateful to all the people of Karnataka for giving me the opportunity to present the budget of this state sixteen times.”
