The Lingasugur Town Municipality membership of four Congress members has been cancelled by Raichur Deputy Commissioner Chandrashekhar Nayak as the members allegedly joined the Kalyana Rajya Pragathi Paksha (KRPP) during the Assembly elections in May this year, violating the rules for change of party.

The Additional Director General of Police (Traffic and Road Safety), Alok Kumar, has reported a disturbing figure of 5,830 fatalities due to accidents in the state over the last six months. He further revealed that the highest number of these accident-related deaths occurred in Bangalore City.

An FIR has been filed against Manikantha Rathod, a prominent BJP leader, and four others by Madaboola Police for their alleged involvement in threatening sand tipper drivers.
