Pakistan is relaying messages between Iran and the US with the aim to help de-escalate the West Asia conflict, a top government official said on Wednesday.

Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr has declared a national energy emergency, citing the “imminent danger” to the country’s fuel supply due to global disruptions linked to the ongoing conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran, Al Jazeera reported.

The US military is preparing to send at least 1,000 troops of the 82nd Airborne Division to West Asia in the coming days, according to three people who are a part of the planning team.

An Iranian military spokesperson mocked US attempts at a ceasefire deal Wednesday, raising questions about whether a 15-point plan proposed by Washington has a chance to succeed.

US President Donald Trump said Iran agreed never to have a nuclear weapon and sent a “significant prize” related to the Strait of Hormuz even as he declared victory in the three-week war.

The US has sent Iran a 15-point plan and ceasefire proposal to end the war in the Middle East, multiple news outlets reported here. 

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that he had spoken with US President Donald Trump on Monday. Netanyahu said that Trump believes recent US-Israeli military operations in Iran could be translated into a negotiated agreement safeguarding Israel’s interests.

The spokesman of Iran's top military command said on Tuesday that its armed forces will fight “until complete victory.”
