Manipur violence: R K Ranjan Singh cancels his programmes in Kerala, leaves for home state

Union Minister of State for External Affairs R K Ranjan Singh on Friday cancelled all his programmes scheduled here following the attack on his house in Manipur by a violent mob and said the clashes in the northeastern state were not communal but due to a misunderstanding between two communities.

 A tragic incident unfolded on Thursday night in Narayanapura, Kalaburagi district, resulting in the death of a 51-year-old head constable. Mysore Chauhan, a resident of Afzalpur taluk in Kalaburagi district, lost his life after being run over by a tractor while he was carrying out his duties to curb illegal sand transportation in the area.

24-year-old youngster stabs 35-year-old man in Surathkal over trivial argument

A young man was reportedly stabbed in Janata Colony, Surathkal, on Thursday night. The victim, identified as Muhammad Shafi, a 35-year-old resident of Kana Colony, was allegedly attacked by a 24-year-old individual named Twahir, who also resides in the same area.

A local court here on Friday convicted and sentenced a suspended IPS officer in a sexual harassment case.
The court sentenced former ADGP Rajesh Das to three years imprisonment and also levied a fine of Rs 10,000 on him.
