Question of survival of democracy

Three men claiming to be from CID, went to researcher and thinker Ram Puniyani’s house, and told him they were there because his family member had applied for a passport. But Puniyani was taken by surprise because no one from his family had applied for passport. He told them that and yet the strangers didn’t leave. They began asking him very intriguing questions about his personal life, and job etc. Finally, they left him with a very disturbing veiled threat.


Let’s gear up to celebrate festival of democracy

Finally, the date for celebrating democracy has been announced. In the given scenario, people fear the festivals in our country. Police come wielding lathis during any festival of any faith in the streets. Deputy Commissioner calls for ‘celebration of the festival’ in peaceful manner. Peace meetings are held time and again. Common people pray to god that the festival should end without any complications.

Mandya politics taking heating up

Even before the Lok Sabha elections are announced, the politics in Mandya region is already gaining volume. Caste and cinema is ruling people’s minds these days. Now Mandya is witnessing the culmination of these two. In the backdrop of actor and politician Ambarish’s demise, his wife Sumalatha is trying to gain entry into politics by riding the sympathy wave. But Congress is hesitant to offer ticket to Sumalatha owing to the fact that the party has already submitted Mandya constituency to JD(S).
