Even before the Lok Sabha elections are announced, the politics in Mandya region is already gaining volume. Caste and cinema is ruling people’s minds these days. Now Mandya is witnessing the culmination of these two. In the backdrop of actor and politician Ambarish’s demise, his wife Sumalatha is trying to gain entry into politics by riding the sympathy wave. But Congress is hesitant to offer ticket to Sumalatha owing to the fact that the party has already submitted Mandya constituency to JD(S).

Having pushed the country back into few years during the rule economically, financially, and socially, Modi government has now set aside the agenda of development and is engaging people with emotional aspects. The Pulwama incident and aftermath were part of this game plan of BJP.

Referring to the developments on the India-Pakistan border after Pulwama attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had remembered Rafale jets. In full glare of public, he said if he had Rafale jets, he could have answered Pakistan in its own language. He also claimed the opposition parties are conspiring against Rafale.

Things are assuming a different shape after Pulwama attack. On one hand, our soldiers are sacrificing their lives to fight the terrorists on the border; and on the other, politicians are busy encashing the deaths of the soldiers.
