As a precautionary measure to contain the spread of coronavirus many flights departing and arriving from Bajpe's Mangaluru International Airport have been suspended. 

Five suspected COVID-19 patients, including a woman, have been admitted to Udupi district hospital on Tuesday amid a rapid spread of Novel Coronavirus across the country.

Mangaluru: As a measure to control the spread of deadly Corona Virus flight services from to and from several international destinations at Mangaluru International Airport have been suspended including flights to and from Saudi Arabia.

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner, Sindhu Rupesh on Tuesday announced that all the activities at the religious centres across the District will be suspended until further notice in the wake of spread of Corona Virus in the state.

Mangaluru: Consultant Physician at Spandana Centre for Metabolic Medicine, Dr. Srinivas Kakkilaya in a Facebook post predicted that the Coronavirus cases are like to increase substantially over the next 3 – 6 weeks and will reach stage 3 and 4 despite best efforts to contain the infected persons and their contacts.

Kadaba: A dead body of a 35-year old man was on Monday found near the courier gate on Mangaluru-Subramanya Road railway route.

Bhatkal: A WhatsApp message stating that 13 people from Bhatkal who arrived from Dubai on March 5 at the Kochi International Airport were suspected Corona Virus patient, created panic among the people in the town. The authorities however have clarified that none of the passengers who arrived from Dubai to Bhatkal had tested positive for the virus or were showing symptoms of the infection.
