All preparations were completed for the last rites of senior IPS officer Madhukar Shetty who passed away on December 28, at his native place Yadadi.

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge Minister UT Khader has said that cmplete assistance would be provided if The Muslim Central Committee comes ahead to construct a Muslim Samudaya Bhavan to commemorate its Golden Jubilee celebrations he said. UT Khader said.

Manjeshwar: A 22-year-old bike rider killed and pillion rider injured when the scooter they were riding collided with a KSRTC bus  on Saturday.

Madikeri: A 16-year-old student was killed when a private bus he was travelling in on an educational tour, overturned near Shantigiri Garden in Suntikoppa on the National Highway. Driver, kitchen assistant and four others were seriously injured in the incident that occurred on Saturday morning.

Mangaluru: Former Lokayukta Justice Santosh Hegde said that "Madhukar Shetty was an ideal police officer who brought name to the police department. His honesty in work, courage and achievements are model to the young generation. I can't believe that such young, honest and dynamic officer is no more".

Mangaluru: The golden jubilee celebration of 'The Muslim Central Committee', one of major social organisations in the district, was inaugurated at the town hall here on Saturday. District Khazi Twaka Ahmed Musliyar inaugurated the programme.

Udupi: Cremation of the mortal remains of senior IPS officer Madhukar Shetty who passed away at Continental Hospital in Hyderabad on Friday will be held at Yedadi in Kundapura taluk on Sunday at 10 am.
