Mystery ship washes ashore at Bhatkal’s Jali Beach, draws massive crowd

Bhatkal: A mysterious ship bearing the name “Cochin Shipyard” washed ashore at Bhatkal’s Jali Beach late on Sunday night, drawing massive public attention and sparking speculation among locals. The abandoned vessel, with no crew members or lights on board, was first spotted by staff of Chai Tapri, a beachside café, around midnight on June 16.

 


Three Air India Express flights between Dubai-Mangalore cancelled on June 17

Mangaluru, June 17: Air India Express has cancelled two Dubai-Mangalore flights and one Mangalore-Dubai flight scheduled for June 17, citing operational reasons. This comes a day after a Mangalore-Dubai flight was also cancelled on June 16, further adding to passenger woes.

Massive container ship part washes ashore in Bhatkal, coast guard launches investigation

A large part of a container ship drifted ashore at Jali beach in Bhatkal taluk during the early hours of Tuesday. The container, estimated to be around 70 metres in length, is believed to be part of a vessel belonging to the Cochin Shipyard, according to preliminary findings.
