Israel and Iran on Tuesday accepted a ceasefire plan proposed by US President Donald Trump to end their 12-day war that roiled the Middle East, after Tehran launched a retaliatory limited missile attack on a US military base in Qatar.

 Iranian state television reported on Tuesday that a ceasefire had begun in its war with Israel, even as Israel warned the public of a new missile barrage launched from Iran.

Israel warned of Iranian attacks on Tuesday morning hours after US President Donald Trump announced the two Middle Eastern countries had agreed to a “complete and total ceasefire."

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Tuesday dismissed reports of a ceasefire agreement with Israel, stating that no such deal currently exists between the two countries.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has confirmed that it launched a missile strike on the US-operated Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, calling it a direct response to American airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. The operation, according to the IRGC, was coordinated with the Supreme National Security Council of Iran.

Following its missile strike on the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council issued a statement on Monday clarifying that the action was not aimed at the Qatari state or its people. 

Doha/Tehran: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has officially confirmed that it launched a missile strike targeting the United States’ Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. The operation, named “Annunciation of Victory,” also reportedly includes strikes on US military installations in Iraq.
