Bengaluru: The Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms and heavy winds in Coastal Karnataka for the next two days.

 


210 students in Udupi skip SSLC examination on first day; officials say nothing to do with Hijab row

Udupi: As many as 210 students in the Udupi district were reported absent on the first day of the SSLC examination which commenced on Monday. The examinations were held at 58 centres in the Udupi district.

350 students in Dakshina Kannada skip first paper of SSLC examination

Mangaluru: A total of 350 students who were supposed to appear for the first paper of the SSLC examination on Monday in Dakshina Kannada district, skipped the exam and remained absent for the paper.

 

Hijab and examination: An appeal to the Chief Minister of Karnataka

Mangaluru: In the wake of the commencement of the SSLC Examination in the state on Monday, the Director of MAHE’s Gandhian Centre for Philosophical Arts and Sciences, Professor Varadesh Hiregange has written a letter to Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai urging him to allow Muslim students in Hijab to appear for their SSLC examinations.

St Joseph engineering college conducts agricultural camp at Manjotti, helps local communities

Bekal: Car runs over people resting on shop veranda; One dead, two seriously injured

In an incident that reportedly occurred early on Thursday, a car driver lost control over his vehicle and ran over the people who were resting on the shop veranda, resulting in the death of one person at Kotikal in the Bekal police station’s jurisdiction. Two others have been grievously injured, it is learned.
