Mangaluru: An appeal was made on Sunday to not politicise the 'hijab' (scarf) issue in pre-university colleges in Karnataka.

Mangaluru, Feb 6: President of Karnataka Beary Sahithya Academy Rahim Uchil who supported the stance of the State government on the row over wearing of 'hijab'(scarf) to colleges received a threatening call from an unidentified person.

Udupi: Muslim girl students, who tried to enter a government pre-university college at Kundapur in Karnataka's Udupi district wearing hijabs (headscarves), were again denied entry to the premises by authorities on Friday, the third day since the issue surfaced in the institution.

Mangaluru: A prostitution racket, which was allegedly operating from an apartment in Attavar here was busted and four young women, including two minor girls were rescued, police said on Thursday.
