Kerala assembly election voting is underway and the district’s five constituencies have already seen a good turnout of voters within the first few hours.

Mangaluru: Citizens Forum for Mangalore Development and the Karwane e Mohabbat Team on Monday submitted a memorandum to the city’s Commissioner of Police against the growing incidents of politically and communally motivated vigilantism and moral policing in the city and the district.

Kadaba: In an incident reported from Remjilaadi, a young woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself to a tree at her residence on Monday.

 In an incident that occurred on Sunday night, a fire mishap in the dumping yard in Pachanady prompted the fire service department to undertake a night-long operation to extinguish the fire. While the garbage heaps in the site burned to the ground, no other life-threatening damages have occurred in the surrounding areas, it is learned. 

Mangaluru: A 13-year-old boy, who had gone missing from his house in Ullal near here was found murdered early on Sunday and one person was arrested in this connection, police sources said.
