Dakshina Kannada District Kannada Sahitya Parishat president S Pradeep Kumar Kalkura said that as Kasargod was integral part of Karnataka state, the administration and education there should be in Kannada.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Sasikanth Senthil has declared holiday for all schools and pre-university colleges in Dakshina Kannada on August 11, in view of heavy rainfall.
