Bengaluru, Feb 6: CLP leader Siddaramaiah warned that he would recommend the  Speaker to disqualify MLAs who will skip from Legislature Party meeting from their membership under Anti Defection Act.

Addressing the KPCC general body meeting at the Palace grounds here on Wednesday, Siddaramaiah said that the MLAs, MLCs and ministers should attend the CLP meeting convened on Feb 8. No one should be absent for CLP meeting. Already, two MLAs fell prey to the offer of the BJP. We have been telling them to change their mind even now. Though they were served notices twice, they did not meet him personally. Now once again Whip was issued, he said.

"The party is giving last chance to disgruntled MLAs. We have waited for long with patience. We will not wait further. We will appeal the Speaker to disqualify those who will not attend the CLP meeting in Feb 8 and we will fight them legally", he said.

BJP leaders have offered money to more than 25-30 MLAs. Yesterday also, they have gone to the home of a JDS MLA. But that MLA rejected their offer, Siddaramaiah said.

In another MLA's home, the BJP leaders have kept Rs 5 crore and left saying that will discuss later. From where did they get that huge amount to lure the MLAs, Siddaramaiah questioned.

Mangaluru: City Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy has said that the allegations against Moodbidri Police Inspector Sandesha PG of sexually harassing a complainant are malicious, and stated that disciplinary action has been taken against the officer in this regard.

The preliminary investigation report filed by the officer handling the case, Mangaluru Urban Sub-division ACP Shrikanth, shows the charges by Sumathi Nayak and Avitha Menezes that Sandesha had demanded sexual favours from them were false. The report also states that there is no evidence justifying the allegation, the senior officer said.

“The women have admitted the viral video and audio clips to be theirs but added that they had filed no complaint. We have already taken strict action against the inspector considering the intensity of his misbehavior. Legal action will also be taken against those who file false complaint out of personal enmity,” the Police Commissioner has warned.

In addition, he said, “The Police Department has protection of and respectful behavior towards women who come to police stations as it primary duty. This incident is a lesson for the Department and precautions will be taken to prevent repetition of such behavior by policemen.”
