Bengaluru: As the polling began in the state for 14 Lok Sabha constituencies on Thursday, Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy, along with his family franchised his vote in Ketagana village of Bengaluru Rural area.

Sagar: Three people died and 20 others sustained serious injuries when a private bus travelling from Honnavar towards Bengaluru, overturned Ulluru of Sagar Taluk here in the wee hours of Thursday.

A voter turnout of 7.60 per cent is being reported from 14 constituencies in Karnataka till 9 am, with the highest number of people voting in Dakshina Kannada and the least in Bangalore Central during the first two hours.

Voting is underway in 14 of the 28 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka, where the contest is mainly between the ruling Congress-JD(S) coalition and the BJP, in the second phase of parliamentary polls.

Bengaluru: The high-decibel campaign for 14 Lok Sabha seats, which will go to polls during the first phase in Karnataka on April 18, ended Tuesday, with top leaders of the BJP and Congress-JD(S) alliance making a last-gasp effort to sway voters in their favour.
