Rubbishing BJP's claim that the coalition government in Karnataka would collapse due to internal rift, Congress leader Siddaramaiah Thursday said the Congress-JDS alliance was strong and they would contest the Lok Sabha polls together.

Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy met Union Coal Minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday here and demanded the Centre to ensure immediate supply of coal to Raichur Thermal Power Station (RTPS).

Vijyapura: BJP state president BS Yeddyurappa has said that the party has not to do anything with the statement of MLA Umesh Katti in which he had said "the Congress-JDS alliance government will fall in the next 24 hours.  MLAs of both the parties are in our contact." His statement is not correct, Yeddyurappa said.

Senior Karnataka BJP MLA Umesh Katti Wednesday claimed he was in touch with 15 disgruntled legislators of ruling Congress-JD(S) coalition and his party would welcome them if they chose to join it.
