The JD(S) on Wednesday complained to Karnataka DGP Alok Mohan against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for allegedly claiming that Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, who is facing charges of sexual abuse, has "raped 400 women".

Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara on Wednesday said there is no response yet from the Centre regarding the request seeking cancellation of diplomatic passport of Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, who is facing charges of sexual abuse of women, on the basis of an arrest warrant issued against him by a court.

Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara has asserted there were no lapses on the part of the government in handling cases relating to the alleged sexual abuse of women by Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna and that the Special Investigation Team was probing them from all angles.

Senior Congress leader Iqbal Ahmed Sardagi has passed away at the age of 80. Sardagi, who served as a Member of Parliament for Kalaburagi Constituency from 1999 to 2009 and later as a member of the Karnataka Legislative Council from 2014 to 2020, breathed his last on Tuesday night in a private hospital following an illness.

Senior BJP leader Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday predicted that the Congress government in Karnataka will fall due to its own contradictions, after the Lok Sabha poll results are out. Claiming that there were internal differences in the ruling party and "competition" between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, the former CM also stated that there may be a vertical split in the Congress at the national level after the poll results and that too may have its impact on the government in the state.

Belagavi: In an incident reported on Tuesday a boiler exploded at Priya Exports, a factory jointly owned by former Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi, on the outskirts of Chikkatti near Athani. The explosion resulted in the death of a woman and left two others critically injured.
