BJP stages protests ahead of Tipu Jayanti; security tightened in Karnataka

A day ahead of 'Tipu Jayanti', the BJP Friday staged protests against Karnataka government-sponsored celebrations for the birth anniversary of the controversial 18th century ruler of erstwhile Mysore kingdom, Tipu Sultan.


Tipu Jayanti: Section 144 imposed across Chikkamagaluru district

In a bid to ensure peaceful celebration of the Tipu Jayanti, Deputy Commissioner MK Shrirangayya has issued orders to impose Section 144 in the district from 6 am on November 9 to November 11's 6 pm.
