Two masked men allegedly fled with gold ornaments after threatening the staff at a jewellery shop at gunpoint in a village in Vijayapura district on Monday, police said. 

Police arrested five people, including the parents, in connection with the illegal sale of a new-born baby girl for ₹50,000. The case came to light after the child went missing last year, officials said.
