Belagavi: Dalit families' animal sheds set on fire amid grazing land dispute

In Mugalkhod village, Raibag taluk of Belagavi district, animal sheds belonging to Dalit families were allegedly set on fire by miscreants late at night. Local sources indicate an ongoing dispute over government grazing land between Dalit and upper-caste families, which is said to have fueled this incident.

Minister MB Patil criticised the BJP, accusing them of using the issue of Waqf properties to play divisive politics. Patil highlighted that between 2019 and 2022, during the BJP’s tenure in Karnataka, farmers in Vijayapura district received notices regarding Waqf properties through the Waqf Board.
