BJP senior leader Basavaraj Bommai has conceded defeat in the Karnataka Assembly elections this year, as the Congress crossed the magic mark of 113 seats.

Bengaluru: The BJP has not been able to make the mark, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Saturday as the Congress was striding towards victory in the state assembly elections.

With the leads indicating that the Congress is likely to get a majority in the Karnataka assembly polls, the party on Saturday said it is now certain that it has won and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has "lost" as the BJP had made its election campaign a "referendum on the PM".
