Scientists say the powerful Indonesian earthquake that killed nearly 400 people lifted the island it struck by as much as 25 centimeters (10 inches).


Officer killed, 16 injured in Jordan terror attack

A security officer was killed in an exchange of fire with terrorists in the Jordan's capital Amman, government officials said late on Saturday.

Minister of State for Media Affairs Jumana Ghunaimat said the terrorists hiding in a building in Al Salt city opened fire on security forces who were chasing them.

FBI rules out terrorism in Seattle plane crash

The airline employee who stole a plane on Friday in Seattle and crashed soon afterward did not have any links to terrorist organizations and was seeking to commit suicide, the FBI said on Saturday.

The FBI said via Twitter that "the information gathered thus far does NOT suggest a terrorist threat".
