Army Officer Says Targeted For Exposing Fake Encounters, Extortions

An army officer posted in Manipur has told a court that his and family's lives are at danger because he had flagged fake encounters and extortions by a unit of the army's intelligence surveillance wing in the northeast. Army sources said the matter is sub-judice and an affidavit has already been submitted in court on the issue.


Karunanidhi's condition continues to be stable

DMK President M. Karunanidhi's health condition is stable and his vital signs are normal on Monday, said a party spokesperson.

"Karunanidhi's condition is now stable after a minor setback in the form of breathing problem on Sunday night. The doctors at Kauvery Hospital are monitoring his condition," T.K.S. Elangovan told IANS.
