Insult to mother Cauvery in the name of statue

At a time when problems of farmers have reached their pinnacle in the recent times, we have a state government that wants to make a statue of Mother Cauvery.

Perils of air pollution

The alarming level of pollution in national capital Delhi is a classic example of how the capitalistic growth has landed us in a miserable space. People there are struggling to be able to breathe clean air. They are scared to emerge from their houses owing to rising level of pollution.

A crook among us

The investigation of Ambindent Marketing Pvt Ltd which has committed a fraud of hundreds of crores, the mask of many so called ‘prestigious’ persons is coming off. The enormity of this crime is unravelling with the arrest of BJP supporter and former minister who was also a BJP insider, Janardhan Reddy. National leaders of BJP are trying hard to disassociate themselves from Reddy as much as possible. Ambident is not a crime committed by a single person. This is an operation that has a massive team work behind it.

Madhya Pradesh: Bhopal tragedy should be made election manifesto

Nuclear war is not the only way the world would end. India has realised damage of that scale can be caused by other things too through the 1984 Bhopal tragedy.

Political criminals behind Pandya murder

Police and allied departments exist to control the criminals. But what if the government uses them for its work? Investigating agencies have identified the role of cops in communal incidents across the country. The most critical role the cops played in Gujarat massacre is more than evident now.

Whose pride is Tipu?

The politics behind ‘jayanthi’ or birth anniversary celebrations have always been deducing in effect of the significant persons who we wanted to remember on their birthdays for their contribution to the society. Except for Gandhi Jayanthi, all other Jayanthis have been categorized as those of people who serve as a symbol of a community. Ambedkar Jayanthi is for Dalits, Kanaka Jayanthi is for Kurubas, Narayana Guru Jayanthi is for Billavas, Shankara Jayanthi is for Brahmins, Valmiki Jayanti is for Bedas, so on and so forth.

Deepavali: let's celebrate the significance of light

Crackers have made a lot of noise in the supreme court as the festival of lights came close. Supreme Court has taken a tough stance against crackers this time. It has banned full time bursting of crackers by putting a time cap on this. And in cities like Delhi, crackers are totally banned. Air pollution in Delhi has reached alarming levels. Crackers have contributed to rising levels of air and noise pollution in the country per se. No sooner did the SC give it's verdict on this issue based on environmental concerns, Sangh Parivar and some political parties are making sounds louder than the crackers. They are deeming this as an attack on hindu dharma! They are carrying a message to people that there is a close link between crackers and festivals. Indian festivals share close bonds with nature and its cycles. Common people have been responding to the changing rhythms of nature by celebrating festivals. Agriculture is the main focus behind these festivals and they are celebrated accordingly.

‘Ram Mandir’ anaesthesia for upcoming polls

BJP and Sangh Parivar are slowly understanding the fact that the nation by now has realized Narendra Modi is an illusion that was created by the media and corporate sector. In four years’ time, Modi has shown to the country that he is the weakest and most undeserving Prime Minister the country has ever seen. He is a namesake PM, while the real decisions are being taken by industrialists such as the Ambanis and RSS. The nation is bearing the brunt of this now. Black money didn’t come back into the banks. Instead, the poor were fleeced and their money was being usurped by the banks. Economy hit rock bottom owing to note ban.
