Is it a crime to fight for human rights?

Two incidents on occurred on Thursday have somewhat provided an indication about which way the country is headed. An eight year old boy has been lynched by a mob. This is another addition to the mass hate crime that is engulfing the nation. No one has been arrested yet in connection with this inhuman and gruesome act.

Undeclared emergency

The incidents that took place on Tuesday midnight are testimony to the fact that a caged parrot such as CBI can never succeed in superseding its bosses. The department lies paralyzed since then. CBI chief Verma showed interest in investigating Rafale deal has been sent home. An incharge officer has replaced him for the time being. The government is snooping on the warring CBI officers. They have been treated very badly. This fight, earlier perceived to be between two officers has turned into a major issue involving the central government. Rakesh Asthana was appointed to work in favour of the government. Modi government had foreseen the chances of Rafael issue getting into the hands of CBI. Hence Asthana was brought in to occupy a powerful chair much before to do the necessary firefighting.

Deaths in manholes: Will they ever end?

The ones who assured to make ‘Bharat’ a global leader at almost at the end of their term. In the next few months, well face Lok Sabha elections. By now it's pretty evident as to what people who accused others of having ruined the country for the last seventy years, have been able to achieve. The beneficiaries of their 'acche din’ are now known to everyone. The poor never stood a chance for good life. 'Digital India' still has people getting into manholes and dying a gory inhuman death. One more worker died in a manhole in the national capital Delhi few days ago. Every time a death like this occurs the government Assurance people that such incidents will never repeat in the future.

Caged CBI parrot struck government

A small storm has been brewing in the central government. The department that has been ridiculed as ‘caged parrot’ the CBI has been witnessing infighting. The government is keen on intervening in the matter. But deep down, this is not a mere fight between officers alone. This is some sort of response mechanism that has kicked in with government wanting to take control of the department. This has resulted in officers clashing with each other. The vested reason behind the government’s keenness to intervene in CBI is basically to safeguard its own interests.

Fancy dress at the Red Fort

Fancy dress competitions used to be held in schools and colleges so far. students used to dress up like Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose and other national leaders shout Jai Hind get uploaded for the performance and win hearts. But one cannot become those leaders the moment you wear the dress. Once you get down from the stage you have to change it. Ok app does not make you a believer of Bose like the broom will not make you were Gandhi follower and the short does not make you the Iron Man like Patel. if one believes all these metaphors can make them great leaders it would best be called an Illusion of a fertile mind.

Amritsar massacre: A self inflicted crime

Amritsar witnessed many dead bodies in the name of Ramleela celebrations. Those who went to burn effigy of Ravana lie dead themselves. North India has a tradition of burning Ravan Refugee around Dasara. They burn Ravan's effigy to show the victory of good over evil. This practice has been on since many centuries. This is a celebration of Rama's triumph over Ravan. The whole event is called Ramleela. This Amritsar tragedy seems to show of we keep our evils and irresponsibilities alive, no Rama can save us and we cannot destroy any Ravan on the outside.

Home delivery of alcohol; government contradicts itself

Maharashtra government is planning to commemorate Gandhiji on his 150th birth anniversary in a very special way. The government has planned to initiate door delivery of alcohol soon. Excise minister has even issued a statement in this regard. Maharashtra will have the rare distinction of having started something so exquisite among civil services for the first time in the nation. Chief minister Fadnavis has decided to launch this since he does not have anything novel to impress upon people. He has even given a humanitarian reason to his decision. He says that have been many accidents involving drunk people in the recent times. Hence this measure would help check the number of those accidents. Because alcohol has been the main culprit in many incidents.

Who needs MJ Akbar's resignation?

As expected MJ Akbar has refuted all allegations against him and said he will not resign from his post of union minister. For the moment even Congress is set aside the Rafael scandal and is hell bent upon seeking Akbar's resignation. One cannot rule of the chances of Modi seeking Akbar's resignation to indicate that he cares for the women of India. MJ Akbar is not great asset to BJP. He does not even represent the party with its full values and ideals. He has always been an opportunist who has remained in power since a long time across governments. He has used the same strategy to bag a plum position in BJP trading whatever little loyalty he can claim to have. He has nothing to lose except for that post.
