Lakshmi Thombattu, a former Naxal activist who had been involved in the Naxal movement two decades ago in the Kundapur region, surrendered at the office of the Udupi District Superintendent of Police (SP) today. With this, Lakshmi becomes the first Naxal fighter from Udupi district to return to the mainstream of society.

Mangaluru: In celebration of its 25th anniversary, Iqra Arabic School, Mangaluru, successfully organized a district-level Hifz-ul-Quran competition for students from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. The event took place on the school campus in Kankanady, starting at 9 AM and concluding at 5:30 PM, with a concluding program held at 6 PM.
