In the Ashraf mob lynching case that took place on the outskirts of Mangaluru, the Second Additional District and Sessions Court on Thursday granted bail to three more accused.

An unidentified man's body was found near the Central Market area in Mangaluru on Thursday morning.

Chinmayi Shetty (20), a native of Ilantila in Uppinangady, was among the 11 people who lost their lives in the stampede outside Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday. Mangaluru: K M Sharief, a senior leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind and a prominent figure in the religious, social, and educational landscape of the region, passed away on Tuesday evening at a private hospital in the city following a brief illness. He was 85.

The Dakshina Kannada district police, in coordination with the district administration, has identified 36 individuals for externment from the district limits following their repeated involvement in communal offences and activities that threaten public peace and order, official sources said.
