Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has announced that the State Government is ready to provide five acres of land to establish a branch of Kerala’s Shivagiri Mutt in either Udupi or Mangaluru.

Dakshina Kannada District In-charge Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, who inaugurated a state-of-the-art AstroTurf football stadium near Nehru Maidan in the city on Wednesday, said that greater facilities would be provided to sportspersons at the stadium in the days to come.

 Chief Minister Siddaramaiah arrived in the city on Wednesday to participate in various programmes organized by the Sivagiri Mutt, Varkala, the Mangalore University and the Brahmashri Narayana Guru Adhyayana Peetha on the Mangalore University campus.
