Urva Police have arrested a long-absconding accused in a 29-year-old double murder case that took place within the limits of the Urva Police Station. The arrested man is a member of the notorious Dandupalya gang.

In the case that created widespread attention in Puttur, where a man allegedly refused to marry a woman after she gave birth to his child, the naming ceremony of the baby scheduled for January 24 has been postponed following renewed attempts at a compromise.
