A West Bengal-based man, Lakshman Mandal, also called Lakhan, has been arrested by Surathkal Police in connection with the death of a 27-year-old man, Mukesh Mandal, from an estate situated in Mukka recently.

A case has been filed at the Belthangady Police Station based on a complaint given by Kusumavathi, mother of Sowjanya, who has accused 13 people of posting defamatory and obscene messages about her and Sowjanya movement activists on their social media accounts.
